Application Process and Vacancies

The Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan (BSER) recently concluded the application process for the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET 2021), which took place from January 11 to February 8, 2021. The REET 2021, aimed at recruiting teachers for various posts, saw a significant number of applications during this period.

REET, a crucial examination for those aspiring to teach in the state of Rajasthan, saw candidates from diverse educational backgrounds applying for both Level 1 (for teaching classes 1 to 5) and Level 2 (for teaching classes 6 to 8) positions. With the announcement of vacancies totaling 32,000, including new posts in 282 government schools, the anticipation for REET 2021 was palpable.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria for REET 2021 were clear: for Level 1, candidates needed a senior secondary pass with a minimum of 50% marks, or they should be graduates or in the final year of their education course. For Level 2, candidates needed to have passed the second year of graduate or elementary education or completed the final year of the course. Alternatively, they should have at least 50% marks in graduation and passed the first year of B.Ed or be in the second year of B.Ed.

Selection Process and Examination Pattern

The selection process for REET 2021 involved a written test followed by an interview for qualified candidates. The examination patterns for Level 1 and Level 2 were distinct, with no negative marking, a total of 150 questions, and a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes for each level.

For Level 1, the subjects included Child Development & Pedagogy, Mathematics, Language-1, Language-2, and Environmental Science, each carrying 30 marks.

For Level 2, the subjects included Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I (Hindi, Sindhi, English, Sanskrit, Urdu, Punjabi & Gujarati), Language II (Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Urdu, Sindhi, Punjabi & Gujarati), and Mathematics & Science (For Maths & Science Teacher) or Social Science (for Social Science Teachers), with Mathematics & Science carrying 60 marks and the rest 30 each.

Application Process and Fee

The application fee for REET 2021 varied according to the number of papers candidates applied for, with Rs. 550/- for One Paper and Rs. 750/- for both Paper I and II.
