The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE), Ajmer, conducted the Rajasthan Teacher Eligibility Test (RTET) in 2011. The exam aimed to assess candidates aspiring to become teachers in lower and upper primary schools across the state. RTET 2011 was scheduled to be held on May 22, and the online registration for the exam was open until April 18. Application forms and bank challans were made available on the official website www.rtet2011.com.
The RTET 2011 exam syllabus was accessible from March 28, while the online application form and bank challan were made available on March 31. Candidates could download their RTET 2011 admit cards from May 1. The results of the exam were announced on June 15, 2011.
The eligibility criteria for the RTET exam included candidates who had acquired the academic and professional qualifications specified in the NCTE Notification dated August 23, 2010. Those pursuing teacher education courses recognized by NCTE or RCI were also eligible. Additionally, the eligibility condition could be relaxed for states or union territories granted relaxation under sub-section (2) of section 23 of the RTE Act.
Subhash Garg, the Chairman of RBSE, announced the launch of a new website for TET candidates on March 27, 2011. The website provided information about the syllabus, which could be downloaded starting from that day.
Candidates interested in RTET were required to have a minimum of 60% in their BEd exams, and their degree should be recognized by NCTE. Candidates with STC and diplomas from the Rehabilitation Council of India were also eligible. This exam marked the first RTET conducted by the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education in the state.
The Rajasthan government mandated the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education to conduct the exam as per the guidelines proposed by the National Council for Technical Education (NCTE). The exam was divided into two categories: one for teachers from Class I to V and the other for teachers from Class VI to VIII.
Paper I of the exam, for Class I to V, covered Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies. Paper II, for Class VI to VIII, included Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics and Science (for Maths and Science teachers), and Social Studies (for Social Studies teachers).
With the first set of exams scheduled for May 22, 2011, the Board aimed to conduct exams for over 50,000 candidates in Rajasthan. Successful candidates would be eligible for teaching positions throughout Rajasthan by June.
The Board of Secondary Education Rajasthan worked diligently to prepare for the exams amidst ongoing board exams. A separate cell was set up for the TET exams to ensure smooth operations.
The NCTE made it mandatory for all teachers with a BEd degree to pass the TET exam, aiming to provide eligible and competent teachers to students across the country.

The RTET 2011 results, along with provisional certificates, were also made available online for eligible candidates.
